After the completion of the engine rebuild, and refitting of the unit. I have now completed several laps of the M60/Handforth bypass route!! and the result is she now has 350 miles on the new engine and gear box.
It is now running very nicely, no smoke, no knocking, no wheezing, plenty of power (well, comparitively anyway).
The only bug is a small oil leak on the sump gasket. These are notoriously bad design and it will probably leak for ever more no matter what I do.
The gearbox is very sweet indeed. Much quieter than the previous s2 box.
I shall be doing the 500 mile oil and filter change, and re-torqueing the cylinder head bolts this coming weekend. After that, she will be ready for action.
Anyone up for a greenlane trip around the peaks before end of Feb??
